Gear shaper cutters
TSA shaper cutters are designed under the concept of profile optimization to maximize tool life, assuring dimensions of the part within required tolerances. This will allow maximum number of sharpening operation and pieces per tool, reducing the tool impact on cost per piece.
Manufacturing process is highly controlled. Aftervacuum heat treatment, shaper cutter profiles are ground on 5-axis grinding machines, achieving maximum precision and being able to manufacture up to DIN AAA quality.

Special geometries
FHUSA-TSA offers standard references* for profiles DIN 3972 BPII (20º finishing), BPIII (20º pre-grinding) and DIN 5480 (30º splines). We can customize tools for any known profile (ANSI B92.1, ISO 4156, DIN 5482…) or specific profiles for any client and/or component. Finally, many special profiles and profile variants. We can adjust tool geometry to any particular case.

We offer standard references* for profiles DIN 5480, DIN 5482 and ANSI B92.1. We can adjust our standard products to any particular case (different length, clamping, extraction screws…). We can also make any other involute profile, straight sided flanks (as DIN 5481, BS 2059…), parallel sided flanks or non-involute.
For small size internal splines, FHUSA-TSA offers reinforced shanks with “ribs” instead of small cylindrical stem.

For chain wheels DIN 8196, we have a catalogue* of standard references. Other standards are designed per request, as well as timing belt pulleys. FHUSA-TSA has almost all of the most common profiles on the market (HTD, T, AT, GT, RPP…).
In addition to common straight sided flanks serrations, FHUSA-TSA is specialized in parallel sided keyway splines (DIN 5463, UNI 221, ISO 14, SAE, DIN 5472, NF E22-131…) with or without undercut lugs.
We can develop any profile obtainable by generation (precise part data is required). For example lobe profiles, ratchet gears, globoid, cycloid, regular polygons and any combination of them.

For external splines without enough space for common tools, TSA makes special internal teeth hub shaper cutters.
Some couplings using eliminated teeth and/or full spaces for alignment require expensive milling or mortising operations. If teeth follow a regular pattern (sectors), FHUSA-TSA can develop sector tools that generate the splines by standard shaping.
